Come to the South Side of Chicago and experience the excellent architecture of Trinity United Church of Christ! You will first tour NOMA Founder Wendell Campbell’s design of 400 West 95th Street, guided by I-NOMA’s RaMona Westbrook AIA and Billy McGhee, RA who are members of this awesome church. This amazing expedition details Wendell Campbell’s sanctuary where you will observe the stained glass windows that depict biblical characters with black faces as well as renderings of black history. Next, you will journey through multipurpose spaces while perusing movements and styles of various African American artists. Last, you will visit Trinity’s Raise the Roof renovation project designed by Brook Architecture.
This FREE TOUR and event is INCLUDED in the FULL CONFERENCE REGISTRATION and open to all NOMA members, conference attendees, friends and extended family. RSVP is required to gain an accurate headcount.
After the tour, please join us for morning worship as we celebrate Men’s Day and honor Chicago’s own Wendell Campbell, founder, member and the first President of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) founded in 1971. His wife, June Campbell, will share a few words and welcome all special guests and conference attendees.

Each year NOMA (National Organization of Minority Architects) attracts 600+ minority architects, urban designers, community activists and design students from across the country come together in fellowship and support for the annual NOMA conference.
This year the 46th annual NOMA Conference, NOMA UNBOUNDED – The Convergence of a Legacy, will be held in Chicago, IL. at the historic Palmer House Hotel, October 17th – 20th. With the convenient location we’re exploring a new and exciting “conference without walls” concept which will leverage 2/3 of our standard conference programs outside the confines of the hotel, and utilize nearby firms, organizations, and venues.
